Biography

Jonathan Fine is the owner of Fine Gold Productions LLC; managing producers including Steven “Lenky” Marsden (Sean Paul, Ms. Dynamite, Heather Headley).  FGP also produces DVD’s including the recent It’s All About Dancing: A Jamaican Dance-U-Mentary (Rykodisc) and compilations.  It also has a licensing division which represents George Clinton/Funkadelic and the reggae label Greensleeves Records Ltd.  Previously he was Director or Senior Director A&R for Island records, Q/Atlantic, K-Tel International and Robbins Entertainment/BMGHis discography has sales of over 2 million compilations.  He has worked on projects for: Fatman Scoop, Fu-Schnickens, Dawn Robinson of En Vogue and more. Fine has been a NYC club promoter and DJ (The World, Save The Robots, Palladium, MK) and radio host (WNYU), journalist and currently an Adjunct Professor in Music Business at New York University’s Steinhardt School of Education and a former instructor at SUNY Oneonta and guest lecturer at the Berklee College of Music in Boston and Baruch College in New York City.  Mr. Fine holds a Bachelors degree in accounting and finance and a Masters Degree in arts administration, both received from New York University (Stern and Steinhardt).  He is currently a voting member of NARAS for the last 6 years.
