Jermaine Dupri, President of Island Records Urban, visited the students in The Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music on March 26, 2008 to speak about his career in the industry and his thoughts on record producing. A Grammy-winning, multi-platinum producer, performer and music executive, Dupri discussed his recently published autobiography, Young Rich and Dangerous: The Making of a Music Mogul, which details his meteoric rise in the industry. Moderated by Muse Recordings CEO Mike Muse, the conversation often focused on Dupri’s frank and thoughtful responses to the ongoing changes and turbulence in the contemporary music industry.
