On Monday afternoon, April 28, 2008, the Steinhardt faculty group Combo Nuvo + Strings and a Tisch Recorded Music Advanced Engineering class recorded a session for WBGO-FM and wbgo.org. The resulting program was broadcast Wednesday, April 30 at 8pm (WBGO-FM 88.3). The session is also available on-line at http://www.wbgo.org/blog/?p=572 for future streaming. It was recorded and broadcast in honor of National Jazz Appreciation Month and along with performances, the program features interviews with musicians David Schroeder and Rich Shemaria. The session was recorded by students from Jim Anderson's Engineering III class in the Dennis Riese Family Recording Studio (Studio 510), under his direction. The Department and WBGO look forward to additional musical broadcast collaborations in the future.
